About TaxCalcUK

TaxCalcUK was created to make UK tax calculations simple, clear, and fast. The goal is to help people understand their income tax, National Insurance, take-home pay, and possible tax-saving options without unnecessary complexity.

I have a strong interest in finance, investing, and the stock market. I also work with an accountant and regularly look for practical ways to understand and optimise income in a responsible way.

This project started from a simple idea: tax calculators should be easy to use, easy to understand, and quick enough to give useful answers in seconds.

What TaxCalcUK is built for

TaxCalcUK is designed for people who want a quick estimate of UK tax, National Insurance, salary sacrifice, dividends, capital gains, or self-assessment tax without reading long HMRC pages or using complicated spreadsheets.

Accuracy and transparency

The calculators use UK tax thresholds and rates for the relevant tax year. Results are estimates for guidance only and should not be treated as financial, tax, or legal advice.

For personal decisions, especially around pensions, investments, self-employment, or tax planning, you should speak to HMRC or a qualified accountant.

The aim

The aim is simple: build clear, fast, and practical calculators that help users understand their numbers and make better-informed financial decisions.
